Her interest in cooking started when she was about 7 years old. Her mum was a busy caterer who cooked and baked for weddings and other social events. Cynthia and her siblings were ‘recruited’ at a very early age to help their mum. This is where her creative skills were birthed. She had the opportunity to learn Ghanaian cooking under the supervision of an expert cook – mum, of course! Cynthia is married to a publisher, Henry, and they have two children, Emmanuel (14) and Adelaide (12). She heads the Deacons Board at her local church. ‘Aromas from Ghana’ is Cynthia’s first book. The book has recently won an international award at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in London, and has been featured on City TV in Canada and in several magazines. This is a real boon to Ghanaian cooking. |
